Holland America Nieuw Amsterdam Ship Inspection

Holland America’s ships are classically elegant.  The dark blue hulls are distinctive and the interiors have old world charm.  DSCN4637

The Nieuw Amsterdam entered service in 2010 in the Signature Class.  Occupancy is 2,106 and there are quad cabins and connecting cabins.  With frequent and attractive 3rd and 4th rates, Holland America attracts families and multi-generational groups for Europe and Alaska sailings.  The longer Grand Voyages usually have more mature passengers.  HAL enjoys a high repeat passenger rate.

She winters in the Caribbean and summers in Europe.

Holland America’s newer ships have some of the best values for suites in the premium cruise market.  By industry standards, the cabins are spacious and with most having tubs.
